April 2023

Fine Art Degree Show

April has been a stressful yet very exciting month for me! Recently I have been preparing and getting the studios ready to be an exhibition space. It has been tiring, but a fun experience to see the studios transform with colour and warmth. I am really excited for this degree show as we are adapting to something new and different to the classic "white cube" format of an exhibition. Most artists have allocated a wall with colour, I chose to do something more different that represents my work!!

I liked the idea of portraying spirtuality, movement and fluidity on my wall much like my own paintings. I decided to try and free hand this myself, I am quite nervous as it is intimidating but will be rewarding to see the reactions of vistors! I am finding that painting my own wall is really satisfying, it is giving me some ideas into creating murals, this could be a new opportunity for me to

The Degree Show is open for public view on the 26th of May at The University of Salford, so if you want to see some amazing art, sculpture's and more please give us a visit or contact me for more details!

New Work

With the degree show upcoming I have been working on some new paintings that I can exhibit for my degree show as well as my last submissions for University.

I like to say this is by far one of my favourites, the composition and the colours just really pop, it makes me so happy to see my work developing and turning into something I have been fighting for for so long. The way in which I have been painting has brought something new to the surface with the abstraction and I am definitely going to continue this in future work and studies!

Studio Photography Shoot

As my last ever deadlines are coming up, I really wanted to try a new photoshoot and bring some more elements of the universe together to insinuate how we are all connected as one. I had the pleasure of working with L.C. Studios  to bring my vision to life! I hired out a projector and came up with some elements of nature to project onto my body. I really liked these shoots they were fun and exciting, being able to twist and turn my body into different shapes in order to create an abstracted form was an incredible outcome!

Screen-printing Workshop

At The University of Salford, they have so many facilities to experiment and play around with. One of my favourite's is screen-print, I am able to transform my paintings into a print version that I have made myself and it is really fun to see them change with each stage. I chose to pick one of my favourite paintings with bursts of colour, this makes them stand out really well against the white bordered background. I am really proud of these and cannot wait for people to see them in the flesh!
